[BLOG] WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT PRINCESS ALBAN UGONWAEZEH-AGUGO- NEWLY APPOINTED MEMBER OF SUB COMMITTEE ON PLAYERS WELFARE OF AFRICAN RUGBY UNION

Princess Alban Ugonwaezeh-Agugo, a 34yr old mother of two hails from Adazi-Nnukwu in Anaocha Local Govt. Area of Anambra State.  She started her sporting career in tennis and has won so many medals. In the year 2007, she was sponsored to a training tour at the HPC Sports Academy in Pretoria South Africa, she came back to play the Delta State Festival and was the Champion in the female singles category. She represented her school, Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe and won back to back Double Gold and Silver medals in the NIGERIA COLLEGE OF EDUCATION GAMES (NICEGA) held in Kano in (2009) and Omork River State in 2012. To that effect, she was honoured  twice by the Students' Union Government of her school.

She as well was the Champion in the Anambra State Festival in tennis  female singles and mix doubles in 2011. 

As a Rugby player,  she is the first Delta State Captain in Rugby and her team won Gold and Silver medals in the National Sports Festival held in Kaduna State in 2009. It may interest you to know that she is the Primus Captain of the Nigeria National Female Rugby Team and led the national women team to the West African Women Rugby Championship held in Accra Ghana and was unbeatable by every other team in the exception of the Tunisian ladies who narrowly beat the Nigeria ladies in the finals placing the Lady Stallions in the second position. 

She is an Educationist per excellence. She obtained her NCE from the above mentioned school, B.ed from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and M.SC from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka.

She is the proprietress of Prince Et Princess Schools and has given so many scholarships to the less privileged especially the orphans. Her contribution in education gained her an award as she 

was awarded the Anambra State Pillar of Education by the Catholic Teachers Association Onitsha Archdiocese by His Lordship Valerian Mmaduka Okeke, the Archbishop of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province.

Her Christian life is also commendable as she has held so many offices in the church....she was one time secretary of the Catholic Women Association (CWO) of her Deanery (Nsugbe Zone 2015-2018) and also the parish Secretary CWO  (2015-2018). She was also appointed the Financial Secretary of her parish, the Patroness of Altar Nights Association and the Chairperson  Block Rosary Crusade (BRC) of her parish.

She is also a fashionista as she runs a fashion hub Kingz Fabrics and Stitches majored in men attire.

Her hobby includes reading/writing, Rugby and Tennis.

On the  31st day of January  2021, Mrs. Princess Ugonwaezeh's name was shortlisted for a leadership scholarship by the African Rugby Union. Shortly after that, an ambassadorial appointment news dropped as she was also appointed a member of the Sub Committee on Players Welfare on the 5th of February 2021 by the said Union.S
